Jay Scherer has 20+ years of experience in advising CEOs and senior leaders on business and career success. His expertise includes executive coaching, executive assessment, leadership succession, team effectiveness, career strategy/planning, and transition coaching. His work focuses on helping senior leaders and teams find renewed energy to achieve business results and personal career goals.
Jay’s career includes a blend of experiences with global operating companies and consulting firms, and with boutique executive advisory firms. Prior to founding Scherer Executive Advisors, he was a Managing Partner with BPI Group, serving in multiple senior roles for this $100 million global management and HR consultancy, including leading the US Executive Solutions practice group, the Midwest/Chicago region, and the BPI group Institute for Leadership.
Before that, he was a Founder and Managing Partner with Scherer Schneider Paulick (SSP) with a variety of leadership responsibilities for this premier Midwest coaching and HR consulting firm. Jay and his partners sold SSP to BPI group in 2007. His experience prior to consulting includes finance and HR roles at GATX Corporation, Amoco Corporation, and United Bank.
Jay has an MS in Management and a BBA in Finance, both from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He has served on several boards including the Global Board of Directors of BPI group SA, and ACF. He is certified in numerous assessment instruments including MBTI, LEA, Voices, Creatrix, Hogan, CPI 260 and others.
Jay and his spouse Kathy live in Lakewood, Illinois and have three sons ages 21, 17, and 14.
